The release of the PS4 and PS5 versions of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, which was originally scheduled for September 29, 2022, has been postponed in a last-minute decision. On September 22, one week before the game's original release date, Square Enix made an announcement. A new date has been set; it's not as close as some may have anticipated, so fans will have to wait longer for this PSP remaster of the original Valkyrie Profile game.

Games are often delayed for a variety of reasons, with developers frequently stating the need for more time for polish and to enhance the overall experience. This year has seen a slew of titles get delayed, including Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, which was originally due out in September. The frustration for many is that Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth was supposed to release next week. The digital deluxe edition of Valkyrie Elysium has a code to claim a digital copy of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, but it's not releasing until September 29.

The release date has been pushed back to December 22, 2022, according to the official Valkyrie Elysium Twitter account on September 22. The delay was caused by a need for more time to polish the product. On December 22, 2022, the new release date will be revealed. It's also been stated that anyone who pre-ordered Valkyrie Elysium's digital deluxe edition on the PlayStation Store will receive a download code for a copy of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on December 22. The game will also be available for purchase separately from Valkyrie Elysium.

The release date of this sequel has been pushed back, apparently out of the blue. Little information about the new Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth port has been revealed, and it isn't a full remaster. According to the PlayStation Store, it will be a conversion of the HD remaster of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, which was released on the PSP in 2006 and renamed Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth.

However, Valkyrie Profile fans should not be concerned since the new game in the series is set to release on September 29, and Valkyrie Elysium included a playable demo on September 15, allowing many people to play the first part of the game and carry their save data over to the full version.

It's surprising that a delay for the game wasn't announced sooner, given how little information there is on this new release of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. With only a week to go until its release, many fans will be disappointed – there aren't many playable Valkyrie Profile titles available on current-generation hardware. However, if it means releasing a better product in the end, then delaying the game seems like the right decision.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth will release for the PS4 and PS5 on December 22, 2022.
